absolutely!! for me, what really gets to me is the LEVEL of love & obsession. even when I was undiagnosed autism/ADHD, I was always known for the strong level of obsession I had with my favourite things/characters. it definitely became part of my identity. so if anyone tries to argue they’re a bigger fan of something I love (or even that they’re an equally big fan), I can get very irritated, like ‘no, it’s MY thing’. it’s so irrational and stupid because most of the time I’m desperately trying to find people with the same interests as me - but then I find someone TOO similar and get annoyed lmao🤦‍♀️🤣

Absolutely. I have OCD and used to retreat into elaborate alternate universes (usually based on a movie or show I'd fixated on) to escape real world anxieties (breakups, job losses, etc.) I went on Lexapro and daydreamed occasionally (how I imagine most non-MDs do) but never to the same extent of time or level of complexity. I recently discontinued the Lexapro after 10 years and immediately pulled into seclusion, not due to depression but because it's more enjoyable in my imagination, even without any major problems in real life. I think that antidepressants mute your emotions, especially the pleasure you feel from daydreams. It's easier to focus on the reality in front of you when you don't get such a high from a fantasy.
