Why does my iphone darken completely when watching youtube videos?

When watching videos, i’ve found that when a specific youtube video has a point where it’s really bright the phone darkens to a point where the video just goes black. Where another device (like my monitor) would show that part in the video at whatever brighterness it was set to. I tried to turn off auto brightness, seems like nothing works.
