How To Help Our Dog Say Goodbye

We have two dogs; a 13 year old Pom and a 4 year old Jack Russell/Lab mix rescue who adores our Pom. Being 13 our Pom has recently declined in health. Per the rules I can't get into specifics, but it was sudden and surprising even given her age. She's responding well to meds and may pull through, but we are still having the BIG discussion and I've been crying almost nonstop for a week and a half. But that's not my question.

My question is some advice you can provide for the "after" time for our younger dog. It goes without saying that she will be there for the goodbye, but then what? I know 100% that we will not be ready for another dog. And even if we are I don't want to assume she will be. I can take my dogs to the office with me and we have a lovely doggie daycare we use just to keep them socialized and to keep them used to being there for the times we need to kennel them so I fully plan to take her with me to work often and drop her at daycare too. But I would love to hear others' experiences.

I also want to apologize up front for how clinical and matter-of-fact this reads. If I get too into anything I'll be crying too hard to type. But I will absolutely do my best to answer any questions if anyone has any.
