Release schedule is messing with people’s memories

I’m not gonna justify Denji reverting as some deeper want for love or whatever as other people have, I honestly think it was just a gag moment. It definitely is kind of repetitive, but I think it was to show how he’s kind of returned to his version of normal.

Not even 10 chapters ago he pushed away Yoru’s advances which is something he definitely would not normally do. Denji then realizes that even though he’s been through so many shit situations, as long as he can find small happiness through girls and food he still has a reason to live. Him getting food and trying to get with Yoru/Asa at the diner is literally all he has left (which he states in chapter 183).

People are taking Yoru’s words of “he’s my dog” at face value. SHE may think Denji is her mindless dog, but we know that he doesn’t think of himself as anyone’s pet anymore. But let’s be real, Denji is never going to be an enlightened monk who passes up sex with the girl he likes. He has reverted in some aspects, but Yoru/Asa isn’t some random girl to him at this point.

So yah, definitely understand people’s complaints about that Denji moment even if it was meant to be a comedy scene. The worst part of part 2 discourse is that each chapter feels like watching an episode of TV that cuts to commercials for a week every 3 minutes.
