YouTube is now randomly playing shorts when have my phone locked.

Edit: it’s been a few months, I want to encourage everyone to try to ensure that YouTube is swiped out and not running in the background. That way it has no chance of ‘continuing’. That seemed to work for me, but I know it’s hard to remember. Good luck!

iPhone XR, had since 2019.

I’ve noticed when this happens my phone is usually charging at that time.

Phone is always locked, and I wasn’t even on YouTube last. I was on a different app.

It’s always a YouTube Shorts video in which the audio just starts playing completely random—wtf?

YouTube was open in the background at that time. I have to swipe it out to get it to stop.

Any solutions? Really don’t want to be WFH in a meeting and randomly get audio of a comedian doing a standup bit.
