What should I be selling?

I’m on my first play through and I’m currently in novigrad (just met triss) I loot almost everything I can when there aren’t guards around and everything I kill, but I’ve not really used the blacksmiths to craft anything because it would use up almost all of my money just buying the crafting components for a silver sword. I feel like I should be upgrading my gear more often than I am. The only thing I’ve been selling is weapons and amour I don’t use and have kept most of the crafting and alchemy ingredients. Any advice would be appreciated :)
