FOUND BEST WAY TO RESTORE WHATSAPP FROM LOCAL BACKUP
Restore whatsapp from local backup updated Working Guide 2025
I tried a lot but all infos are outdated and with updated wtsapp version & new phones nothing works.
I Found a trick. You must have local backup File "msgstore.db.crypt14" which you want to restore.
(from android setting add new google a/c first to be safe side if you have old backup on old a/c)
(Always keep backup copy of full whatsapp folder in either PC or phone)
Trick is to fool system to upload file of our choice instead of theirs
Method 1 - (Tested by me & other user)
( In pc, keep folder open with crypt14 file you want to restore and in another window keep phone browser open with folder wtsapp/database. Keep copy crypt14 file in advance so we just have to paste it later.
tap create backup - Now it will create new local backup in phone. it will show progress 0% to 100% Let it create file 100%, then when they start upload, turn off internet.
Quickly paste your msgstore.db.crypt14 file to wtsapp/database folder using PC to replace with new file.
turn on internet
Now it will show new file size & upload this new file to google drive which you can use to restore new installed wtsapp )))
Method 2 - (Very easy. Not tested by me but should work)
Turn off wifi and start cellular data network.
Open wtsapp - go to settings - chats - backup - tap create backup.
Now it will create new local backup in phone. it will show progress 0% to 100%
Now it will ask "Back up using cellular?"
Dont select anything & Simply minimize it. then copy "msgstore.db.crypt14" file you want to restore, paste it in wtsapp/database folder.
( It will replace with file wtsapp just created )
now go to wtsapp, use wifi or cellular data to start uploading backup file to Gdrive.
Now uninstall wtsapp and reinstall. select google backup to restore. It will restore and Finalize uploaded file.
Done....
--------------
This way you can restore any chat from any old backup file too.
You can temporary move media folders like images to different folder to keep upload size very small, say from 1 GB to 30 MB. You can keep separate backup of media files.
Please Remember.... to always copy full wtsapp folder in PC every few months. (actually take backup of all android media) I see lot of users complaining on youtube that they lost their wtsapp data & no way to get it back.
If this worked for you please Give Award :D comment and share. Thanks....
