Question regarding old wood pipes
My dad gifted me some tobacco pipes he had since the 70's. He thinks they haven't been used since the 90's. There's one in particular that I would like to use (I don't have a picture of it right now but it's carved into the shape of a head) but 1) I'm concerned about mold/other bacteria. any advice for cleaning what is likely ivory? 2) I'm concerned about the nicotine. I don't use nicotine products and would like to avoid even trace amounts (on principle). I'm not desperate to use any of these pipes, they're priceless as it, but it would be nice to get a little use out of one of them :)
side note: I know weed doesn't cherry the same as pipe tobacco and won't smoke like pipe tobacco
