Quick question on settings and dedicated servers

New server settings can in fact be loaded into dedicated servers and the host’s tech support is incorrect?

Server host tech support is saying that the new difficulty settings cannot be applied on a dedicated server without mods. I’m pretty dubious about that claim, figured I’d check the community to verify before switching hosts.
