WTF was AJ’s deal???

Outside of Joffrey Baratheon I’ve never detested a child character more than AJ Soprano. For all of Tony & Carmella’s enabling & shortcomings, I’m still failing to find any valid justification for AJ’s attitude and treatment of his parents, specifically Carm. This kid got everything he wanted and then some , yet he treated his mom like utter dogshit.
