Unmarked Cop Cars

Has anyone noticed a lot of unmarked cop cars? I saw 4 on my ride home from work. Two were sports cars and two were nicer pickup trucks. I know they usually get these vehicles from forfeiture. Wouldn’t it make more sense to auction off these cars?
