I'm a little worried about current AI economics

I'm no expert on AI but it feels like test time compute scaling isn't sustainable at all. Most of the capital investment in AI development is shifting from one time expenses like gathering data, training the model, building datacenter infrastructure, to offering exponentially more expensive runtimes per prompt. o3 is currently at $2,500(!!) per prompt and o3 mini costs far more than what monthly subscriptions cover. If AI is going to replace humans it needs to be able to do tasks for pennies on the dollar, current scaling is making ai seem just as expensive if not more than human labor in the long term
