Just picked up my first wheel/pedals in 15 years

I’ve been out of the sim racing world for about 15 years. Last wheel was a belt-driven Logitech and some Fanatec club sport pedals. I was on iRacing exclusively and had time back then to tinker to my heart’s content.

Fast forward many years and now I have kids that are really getting into cars and I want to give them an intro to sim racing. I’ve decided to start with a PS5-based setup, both to get them interested and to make things easier to just get racing. Plan is to run GT7 mainly, but I think I’m going to want to run ACC and WRC as well. It looks like there are more sims coming to PS5 too. I’ll miss my old triple-screen setup for sure, but I’m really interested in trying PSVR2.

Anyway, I’m looking for help with a rig setup, please. I’ve just bought a used DD wheel: Logitech G Pro setup (wheel and pedals). I’m now looking for the following to complement it:

  • Profile rig: I want something with a sturdy platform for this Logitech style wheel base. I also want something where i can use a seat-slider based pedal tray (so I can quickly adjust for kids). I think the answer is GT Omega, but I can’t decide between Prime or Prime Lite?

  • TV/monitor. I like the display to be as close to the wheel base as possible. And understand I’m limited to 16:9 on PS5. Which TV/monitor size do you think is ideal? 32” monitor or maybe a 4x” TV? How about resolution? Would I regret not getting a 120hz 4K unit? And I think I’m convinced of the need for an independent monitor stand, to isolate display from DD wheel.

  • PS5. I’m planning to get the regular PS5 instead of Pro, and using the savings to put towards a PSVR2. Is that sensible?

Thank you!
