Close call while driving

Spun out in the acceleration lane after hitting a patch of ice. I had my winters on and I wasn't even going that fast, but I lost control of the car and it did a 180, practically in slow motion while I pumped the breaks. Luckily, it spun into the snowbank instead of going into the highway. I didn't get hurt, and there was no damage to the car, but if it had spun in the other direction it would have been a very different story.

I feel weirdly disappointed and sort of betrayed. I like driving, I'm good at it, never even been close to having an accident until this. But you can do everything right and still get unlucky, and it's one thing to understand that intellectually, but it's another to really experience it and understand first-hand how much of your life is up to sheer chance.
