Magtatanong ba ako kung alam ko?

Seriously. I'm a senior myself and yet tanggap ko na magtatanong at magtatanong sakin mga juniors ko when they don't know, for the sake of their patients.

Ibang usapan na kung ilang beses na nilang tinanong paulit ulit but if it's their first time encountering such a dilemma, and it's a scenario that needs experience, then I would rather have them ask me for the sake of the patient rather than fear asking me and inflict harm on the patient in the process.

Pero bakit ganun? May mga seniors na di yan gets. Na instead of helping their juniors out, resort to shaming them and humiliating them for not knowing.

As if all their knowledge and confidence in handling these patients aren't a product of months- or even years- long of experience, of being wrong and being corrected, of guidance by their own seniors who were also molded the same way.

Bakit may mga seniors who can't empathise with juniors? Kahit pinagdaanan rin nila ang pinagdadaanan ng mga juniors ngayon?

No matter how intelligent you are, kahit cum laude, magna cum laude, summa cum laude or PLE topnotcher ka pa--- if that's how you treat your juniors, by being condescending, looking down on them and humiliating them for asking for your help despite knowing fully well and being capable of assisting them, don't expect you'll earn their respect. The consultants may admire you for your brains, but your colleagues will loathe you for your unkindness.
