Is this fixable?
I had never been able to chew food correctly. As far back as I can remember, I had relied on water and other drinks to wash down half-chewed bits of food, chewed with my mouth open, made lots of noise, etc. After years of embarrassment and berating from my parents, I realized that there was probably a structural reason why this was giving me so much trouble.
I went to a few orthodontists, and one recommended that I get a tongue tie release. I went through the release process, which including muscle tension release, and found at least a moderate change in my posture, breathing, eating, and even singing.
I notice that with the tension in my neck released, my jaw position at rest changed, and that in order to make my teeth meet again, I have to contort my neck and jaw to get them back to their previous position.
I do not want to have to do this as it feels unnatural and gives me a more lopsided look in the face. Is it possible that my bite can be changed to fit my new jaw positioning through nonsurgical means, considering I am a male age 23?
I understand that I’m a bit vague on the specifics. If anyone DMs me I can send pictures of what my teeth currently look like.
