Oxycodone withdrawal

I just need advice. I have never been physically dependent on opiates until recently. I was abusing and taking 100-400 mg of oxycodone for a week straight. So basically a very high dose but only for 7-8 days. (dosed through out each day). Regarding withdrawal, i am expecting a tough time as i have never experienced withdrawals. My main question is should i taper down or go cold turkey with comfort meds (pregablin, clonidine, loperamide). I am afraid of withdrawals so which route is better?
