Keto & carb tracking
I’ve been doing keto since the beginning of December. I’ve used the app since 2018 however . This is the first time I’ve done Keto though since using the app. I mean, I’ve done many different types of meal plans over the years which have been logged but this is probably the most different in terms of macros.
However, I’ve realised that I’m inputting things like Stevia and erythritol (via a few different brands ) but the app doesn’t take into account that you take the polyols away from the carb amount. Short of getting in touch with every brand that I’ve used with sugar substitutes. I’m not sure how to proceed with the app because it’s a really good tool for keeping me on track but I’ve realised I may not be eating as many carbs as I thought. It’s a bit frustrating because it’s crucial that I track my carbs in the right way.
Do I just leave them out of my recipes and days intake? Which feels a bit inaccurate, but supposedly the body doesn’t absorb sugar substitutes with polyols. I’ve seen a few recipe content creators who are using glucose monitors and say that these kinds of sugar substitutes don’t spike their insulin (I know it’s different for everyone though).
I’m not doing this for diabetes, but mental health weight loss and controlling some other conditions .
