Metronome help

So I have been playing the trumpet for almost 2 years now and been pretty good at it. I just have one issue, I don’t know how to use a metronome. Now I understand what a metronome is used for I just don’t know how to set it up. I use sound corset and don’t understand what to do to set it up and use it properly. And whenever I do try to use a met I am never in time and don’t know how to properly count off. If anyone has any recommendations and tips to use I would really appreciate it.
