New MTB suggestion

I need to buy a new MTB. I'm not a professional, I often use it on asphalt and sometimes off road. I already had an SKL excursion that I had to sell. I'm also looking for second hand to fit within the budget. I see so many brands (Atala, specialized, discovery adventures, rockrider ...) I don't know which one to trust. Advice?
