Friendly bookstores for authors and/or local author groups?

Hi all! I'm new to Milwaukee, and recently published a nonfiction book. I want to start reaching out to local bookstores for events/signings. Does anyone have any recommendations for stores that are friendly to non-famous authors? Also, are there any writing/author groups in Milwaukee I could join? Thank you!!
