Bushnell MPED (5-30) VS. Athlon Ares ETR (4.5-30)

I've narrowed down my sub $1k optics search to these two options. I get a great price on the Athlon through EV but it's more or less the same as the MPED. I'm curious to hear opinions from people that have one or the other, or optimally both.

Edit: Just wanted to thank everyone for their input, I went with the Athlon and I'm very happy so far although I haven't shot with it yet.
