Favorite home defense handgun?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm shopping for a home defense handgun and wondered what the consensus best option is. I see lots of Glock 19 recommendations. I am sort of partial to CZ because of my weird attachment to Central European countries. Certainly open to all options. I'd like to keep the cost relatively low, while maintaining reliability and quality.
