Why can’t we rename Bluetooth devices?

I would love, nay need, the ability to rename the Bluetooth devices. Cp1-63EB? Not sure what that is. S10? I used to own one, but trucks from the 90s didn’t have Bluetooth. Is there a practical reason why renaming devices on the phone is not a feature?
