sansevieria cylindrica forms?

This sansevieria cylindrica (pic 1 and 2) is a prop from a plant that looked like pic 3. How do I get it to look like pic 3?

The center stalk of each plant is nice and round- the ones to the side are flatter. Can I just trim off the side pieces and replant the center stalk a little deeper? 🤔
