Pilot vs Subaru Ascent

I am in the market for a used car to upgrade from my Toyota CH-R. I love the CH-R for its reliability, but I would love a vehicle with more space for car camping and transporting multiple family members at once. I'm currently looking at 2020-2022 pilot elites or 2021-2022 Subaru ascent tourings. I've driven both and love both for different reasons - the steering/handling of the Subaru is amazing and I prefer the undisrupted panoramic sunroof, but the Honda is a bit more comfortable and I prefer the infotainment style. I have also driven a Toyota Highlander and was the least impressed, especially given that they tend to run more on the expensive side.

All research I've done shows issues with both cars in those year ranges, but I also know the negative reviews tend to be the loudest. If you have a pilot or an ascent, why did you choose your car? Also am I missing any reasons to avoid these specific years for these models?
