Graphic design is dead.
I might get downvoted to hell for saying this because a quick look into this sub makes you see how everyone here hates reality and loves delusion (and with how bad everything is, I understand it, I was like you, but one must come down to reality at some point)
So the reason because I say this is because I'm extremely upset with my school and the future creative jobs have. I'm in my last year of the graphic design career and now I'm seeing how much time and money I wasted, in my country the graphic design "career" it's not in real universities, only in art schools (like mine) and the "career" is more like a false equivalence to a real career, but since I liked it I decided to enroll, mid-career the whole AI thing started, the professors acted dumb, saying that it would be just a tool and that AI would never steal our work blah blah blah...well, now my ART SCHOOL is using designs created purely with AI, I repeat, AN ART SCHOOL, full of graphic design students and Illustrators prefers AI to professionals in the sector in which they teach, and even more they prefer AI to their own students. Before AI, the designs for school networks and social media were made by us or by former students of the school, now they are made by AI. Is pathetic, all this is pathetic. I started to dig into this topic and see if it's only my stupid school, is not, all the art schools I saw are shifting into AI more or less, and is disgusting, but is the reality, I even saw that some art schools have eliminated their graphic design careers this year.
I remember how everyone in my family and some friends too said to me that graphic design and creative careers don't have any future and that I should choose a more serious career (and this was before the rise of AI) and I thought that they were lunatics that didn't want to see me happy working in a creative field, now with all the pain and anger in my heart I have to say that they were right and I should have listened to them, now I feel like my life is ruined because of my poor decisions and fucking AI.
