PhD Economics USA - Profile Evaluation & Recommendations
Hi everyone,
I am thinking of applying to a PhD program in the US. However, I'm not sure if my profile is competitive enough.
My academic background is:
-BA (Hons) Philosophy, Politics, Economics, top 10 UK university (3.53/4) - 3 years
-MSc Economics lower-ranked uni in the UK (3.42/4) - 1 year
-MSc Economic History, top 5 UK university (3.42/4) - 1 year
I calculated my grades using World Education Services, which is mentioned on Stanford's website. While I attended decent schools, my grades are not excellent, I don't have research or teaching experience, and no math courses (by this I mean, I haven't straight math classes as these are not offered in econ degrees in the UK). I haven't taken the GRE yet
Ideally, I would like to study in California, Arizona, Florida, or another state with sunny weather. Any recommendations for programs where I'd have more chances of getting in?
