Im a mid-High handicap should i get new clubs

I used to play a lot as a kid in tournaments and everything. then i kind of just stopped for over ten years which i really regret. I am getting back into it and using some clubs of my dads, They are graphite and not extended (im 6'4) so i feel like im messing my swing. Im thinking of buying new steel shaft clubs as my swing is quite fast and doesn't suit the graphite. Im not sure tho as clubs are dam expensive. Im mainly looking for a set of irons but im not sure. I play roughly 1-2 times a week but just fun nothing crazy. TBF the funding is the main issue, i was thinking maybe fork up a instalment plan but i dont earn nearly enough to cover it. What do you guys think
