Should I charge for my Steam game?

Title sums it up. I'd like to release a game on Steam in the near future. It's a very small one, a single FPS boss fight I expect most people to finish in less than 30 minutes.

My goal for posting on Steam is to just reach as many players as I can. I'm not really concerned with profit, I honestly prefer focusing on gamedev as a hobby than as an income source. That said, I've seen some advice floating around that making a game free might also make people think its cheap and pass on it. Buuuut then I've seen the same said for making it cost $1-$5 as well.

Guess I'm just wondering what the most popular advice here is? I imagine generating wishlists is the most important factor regardless, but how much influence could charging/ not charging have on my games reach?
