Do you prefer Jason Voorhees in movies where he wields his iconic machete, like in Freddy vs. Jason, or do you prefer him get creative without it, like in Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan?

Title says all. Personally, he seems scarier without it as it adds a layer of unpredictability to him which makes him seem more menacing. Basically, it makes him since more like an unhinged maniac wearing a mask.
