Federal Employee - Reinstated / Happy yet Uneasy
I JUST GOT MY REINSTATEMENT EMAIL TODAY!!
Effective Immediately 03/17/2025 I am being reinstated to my previous position and placed on administrative leave!!
A little background for context: Prior military - service connected.. I started working for the Department of Veteran Affairs in 11/2022 - 11/2024 (completed probation period) and then I transferred from the VA to the the Department of the Treasury (IRS) in 11/2024. I was let go because I was on "probationary status" from transferring and was terminated on 02/20/2025...
I am excited, nervous, confused and a ball of emotions!! What is to come?
I don't trust going back if I am being honest..
I don't know how long this Administrative Leave will last?
Obviously I am taking the reinstatement to get my backpay and insurance etc..
BUT is a RIF coming down the line next? I've been applying to other jobs (outside the government) since being let go.. what if something aligns well?
WHAT IS LIFE?!?!?!
anyways, wishing everyone luck on this journey of working for the federal government!
