Should I believe them or not?

Talked with HR for my facility. They said I should be safe. Security manager. There is definitely no reason to let me go. I should just sit tight. You see I want to believe that...but at this point, is it really up to them? My department has been so quiet about what to do or how to respond. Side note, I haven't taken a vacation in a year so if there is a government shutdown I wouldn't mind staying home with the kids and just enjoying their company.
