Lap scars advice please!!! :(

I'm suppose to be having a lap surgery this winter and I am so reluctant and worried because of the scarring. My skin scars super easily and I'm worried by body will never look the same. I literally don't even want to have the procedure because of the physical changes.

This is gonna sound extremely trite and shallow and insane, but I really really don't want my belly button piercing to be ruined and I know they cut in the general area above the belly button. I'm actually considering not getting the surgery because of this. Before anyone tells me how stupid that is, trust me I know. It's a weird response I'm having that I'm aware is completely illogical. My health issues have sky rocketed this last year and I feel like I'm out of control of my own body. As incredibly ridiculous as it is, this seems like the last straw.

My doctor (and soon to be surgeon) is fantastic, but is this a concern I could raise with her? Is there a way to preserve my piercing/have it surgically tied up/not have it cut through? Has anyone dealt with belly button piercings and/or how have you minimized scarring on really sensitive skin?

Again, yes, shallow, stupid, ridiculous to worry about. My evil rat brain is just overloaded with my physical changes and it's presenting in irrational ways.
