Nightmare Dungeons have no system and no identity. There could be so much more to them.

Right now, NMD aren’t a system. They’re just an obducite chore. Crafting a sigil isn’t crafting, you’re just buying a sigil. The affixes are extremely limited and all of them are boring. Avenger is the only remotely interesting one. There is no system or process to targeting any kind of challenge or rewards. Remember when there were more NMD affixes? Monster attack speed, unstoppable monsters, backstabbers, etc etc etc. Why did that all need to be removed? Lightning Storm and Death Pulse were dumb, glad they are gone, but there were tons of affixes that made the whole dungeon harder.

This got me thinking. Why can’t we craft for real by choosing or RNGing specific affixes? Not like undercity, where the actual rewards themselves can change. This would all boost obducite and veiled crystal amounts by direct increases to the difficulty. Something more layered and complex than what we have right now.
