Schengen visa appointment epic failures

Why does no one speak or do something about the epic failure that is happening in Cyprus with the impossibility to get an appointment for Schengen visa application? Yes Cypriots are not affected by this, so that’s an obvious reason, but every other resident who comes from a country that needs visa to visit the Schengen area is completely stuck on this island. It’s unbelievable to me that the embassies and consulate couldn’t give less of a f**k. It’s so bad that I’m seriously considering moving out of the country because of this, we are literally stuck here, and even though the country is part of EU, it’s same like it’s not (to us).
