A journey to create a garden marker

My wife sent me on a journey recently to come up with a garden marker that lasted. She loves the end result, and I thought I should see if anyone else was interested in them as well.

Her criteria for these landed clearly in the "Function" over "Form", but in the end these are simple, easy to use, and met her criteria.

  • Easy to push into the ground.
  • Space to write additional details.
  • Writing that doesn't fade, or wash off in the rain.
  • Writing that's removable at the end of the season.
  • Durable, and easily storable.

What I ended up with was an acrylic garden marker, with the primary plant name etched into the acrylic, but there is enough room for writing underneath, which can be done with an acrylic paint pen. They met the criteria, but most importantly she loves them.
