RTX 4080 Super vs. RX 7900 XTX
Hello, I'm picking a new graphics card for my computer to replace my last unreplaced GTX 1060 6GB component (R7 7800X3D, 32GB RAM), at least for the next few years. So I'm choosing in the price range of around $1.2K, and for the first time in my life, I'm on the fence about whether to go with the red team or the green team. Both the 4080 Super and RX 7900 XTX graphics cards are about the same price as of today and I'm undecided. With the red team, I'm dazzled by the large VRAM, the ability to finally take advantage of FreeSync on my monitors, slightly better fps for games, and better raw performance. On the other hand, I also like the slightly lower power consumption, RayTracing and AI features in the green team, however, just 16GB VRAM in a HighEnd graphics card strikes me as ridiculously low.
However, I'm also skeptical about drivers in AMD graphics cards. I've been a proud user of my 1060 for over 5 years so far. I've never had any issues with stability or driver functionality with Nvidia. However, I see quite often that AMD graphics cards have a problem with the drivers and often don't work as they should.
So I would like to ask, what do you think is a better graphics card for the future and which one would you choose? I will be equally happy for personal experiences.
