Automatic Sports Cars -- Whats the Appeal?

I often browse Donedeal trying to find something interesting. Whenever I find something I'm interested in (namely 6 cylinder BMWs) I get disappointed by the transmission choice.

You'd be hard pressed to even find a manual hot hatchback anymore, and I don't get it. To me the appeal of a sports car is driver interaction, otherwise I'd get a boggo 520d or Passat, no?
