New 32:9 (5120x1440) build

Hi All,

I am looking to upgrade my gaming rig, the entire thing will be replaced but for now the RTX2080 will probably be retained until the 50 series launches unless AMD can truly compete? yet?

PREREQS; New build or upgrade? New (mostly)

Existing parts/monitors to reuse? Samsung G9 (non oled) Zotac RTX 2080 (OG) Keyboard mouse

PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games) Gaming 99% Video Editing/Web 1%

Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If not US, list local vendors) UK (England) Amazon, scan, ocuk..

Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate) No - BUT recommendations for a 21:9 OLED 36xx*16xx range around 38-41" I'm interested but not for this build just in general i dont enjoy gaming on the G9 as much as i did on my old 21:9 but this is a secondary thought right now

Budget range? (Include tax considerations) 1-1.5k £GBP excluding GPU but including at least a 2tb SSD for storage and the 1tb boot drive, majority of long term storage is an external NAS, no spinning media needed in this build , i will be buying a new GPU in the new year.

WiFi or wired connection? Wired 2.5gb but with wifi

Size/noise constraints? MATX / Not really

Colour/lighting preferences? White build throughput, PSU GPU, CPU cooler etc etc full white maybe with option for some RBGUnicron puke

Any other specific needs?

Not really

an example build ive cooked up can be found here; https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/FKsm9c however i have historically disliked AIO coolers as i have owned 2 and both have failed PSU choice is 100% up for discussion as i hear mixed review on these PSUs, the SHIFT range looks good but PCPP says it might not fit in the case.

The case is NOT fixed in stone but this is a showcase build so pretty is a price to pay i guess.

Intention would be to confirm a build/s and purchase later this month during the sales but i need to roughly know what to outlay on cost and if my designs are worth it, would the 9700x3d (i know its not out yet) be worth the cost, if for gaming etc etc.

thanks all!

Exa!
