Looking at upgrading to Ryzen 5 5600X

Currently using a 2600X - not holding up amazingly well with the 3070 I upgraded to at the start of the year (bottlenecking I think?). Looking at upgrading to a 5600x but wondering whether my motherboard would be worth keeping too - or whether id see a performance boost from getting a new one. Current motherboard is an MSI X470 GAMING PLUS (MS-7B79). I know id need to run a bios update for a 5600x to be compatable - but is it worth me grabbing a new motherboard too? or would it not impact performance? Also is a 5600x my best bet to upgrade to, or is something else more worthwhile?
