Foreigners in Berlin: Where are your hidden gems for authentic cuisine?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been lurking here for a while and figured it’s time to ask: for all the foreigners living in Berlin, where do you go for authentic eats from your home country? I’m talking those spots that feel like a taste of home, not the tourist traps or watered-down versions.

For me, as a Thai guy, I’ve got my go-tos: Kien-Du-Kiang-Thong and Tonsai are where Thai folks, I mean seem to hang out—solid, no-nonsense food that hits the spot. Then there’s Chon Thong, which I’ve noticed non-Thais rave about, but honestly, most Thais I know find it overpriced and tweaked too much for German tastes. Like, iceberg lettuce salad with your Thai food? 🤮 No thanks.

So, spill your secrets! Where are the real hidden gems for your cuisine? Looking to explore beyond my usual haunts. Cheers!
