Telugu first night traditions – Reality vs. Movies?

In Telugu movies, we often see a common depiction of the first night:

The bride enters the room with a glass of milk. The room is decorated with flowers and fruits. There seems to be a set process or tradition followed. But in real life, does anything like this actually happen? Is there a specific tradition in Telugu culture that follows these rituals, or is this just a cinematic exaggeration?

I personally haven’t seen such a process happen in real life, so I’m curious to know—does any Telugu family still follow this? If so, how common is it?
