[s2 spoilers] I'm not mad, just disappointed review
I've never done this before but it's Arcane.
First Arcane season 2 is worth watching whatever anyone said, the character writing is good and the animation is still a masterpiece.
I think the failure of Arcane season 2 as many people probably felt is the pacing, it feels rushed probably because they don't want to wait another 9 years to make season 2, too many scene that would easily explain the little plot hole was cut and left for the audience to fill while this in itself isn't a bad thing too many of them makes the story not concrete enough to stand on its own.
I can see the vision of what the creators of the show probably wanted but failed to show the show they envision. Albeit I still have some problem with it, I can see the direction the character are headed and why. And it can be good but again it is rushed ACT 1 and 2 probably enough story to make a season 2 and ACT 3 as season 3. Because the main story of Jinx and VI is sort of ended in ACT 2.
Now, my problem with the direction. I love Runeterra lore (the world of Arcane), I interacted with it mainly though the card game "Legend of Runterra". The league of legends lore is a mess and probably need a lot of retcon but the pieces still there.
I think what makes Arcane season 1 welcomed by the Runeterra lore community because they still try to connect the broken lore. While I feel like Arcane season 2 just went and change it. Dont get me wrong many changes are needed, many are welcome like singe and oriana (especially at the end) and I love how ekko build his Z-Drive, but season 2 makes a lot of wierd desicion that now cemented in canon.
Like Jinx missing finger, it is not relevant to the plot nor to her character it just is, why makes her lose a finger? the same with caitlyn eye.
Why make warwick victor puppet? (probably to remove a berserk monster from the plot but still, it could just "died" when isha blew its head off and regenerate the classic warwick head thus connecting it to the lore)
Victor becoming a mage is also wierd but they havent finished that story yet.
Like I said I can see how the plot supposed to go down and it could have been epic but it needed way more build up than what it is now. they rushed their vision probably because budget and time, I think many of the arcane fans would have waited longer than 2 years to see that vision.
I am dissapointed, but it still a good show and worth watching. I still love arcane and hope they continue on (to Noxus?) and maybe some day i can "TELL THE PEOPLE WHAT I'VE SEEN TODAY.
So yeah.
