Unable to receive SMS on new iPhone 11 (Verizon carrier)

I just switched from Pixel 2 to iPhone 11 and am having issues receiving SMS messages from Android users. iMessage works fine and I can send/receive calls to any phone type. My outbound SMS messages successfully send to Android users, but I am not receiving their replies.

I have extensively Googled and have tried all sorts of ways of resolving the issue. I have tried all of the resets (factory, network, etc) to no avail as well. I have verified that the Pixel 2 is not activated and has been removed from all Verizon & Apple visibility. I even factory reset the Pixel 2 and have it turned off. I worked with Verizon tech support online and they verified my phone has been successfully activated and should work, but it isn't. I went ahead and drove to the Verizon store and got a new SIM card and had it successfully activate, but the issue is still persisting. I only switched 2 days ago and read somewhere that it may take a few days for things to start fully working, so that is my current plan -- to wait.

Any tips/solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: figured it out. See “It will probably break when you switch phones” in this article: https://pocketnow.com/why-you-should-probably-avoid-googles-rcs-text-messaging-chat-feature

RCS messaging is to blame. My two friends with newer Pixels have to turn RCS chat off and their texts come through. My Pixel 2 doesn’t even have RCS as an option, so I’m not sure why outgoing RCS are failing. Strange. But mystery solved, thanks for the help.
