Was 2024 a democrat overperformance in North Carolina

In 2020, Trump lost the NPV by around 4.5 points but he won North Carolina by 1.3 points. This year, he won the NPV by 1.5 points but won NC by only around 3.2 points.

I was thinking that the presence of Mark Robinson on the ballot, who lost by nearly 15 points, as well as the hurricane depressing Appalachian turnout made NC redder than it should have.

In this environment I was expecting a NC that would have an Arizona margin of R+5-6.

Was this a sign of Georgia adjacent trends or just a fluke. Georgias suburbs remained extremely blue this cucle.
