Unpopular Opinion: It’s Not LGBT-Phobia, Team MoonCovey Is Just Superior

I see a lot of Team Yuri-Kitty fans getting defensive and accusing Team Minho-Kitty fans of being LGBT-phobic or disliking girl-girl or bisexual relationships. But honestly, that’s just not the case. The world has progressed, and people openly love and support LGBTQ+ relationships in media. If people had a problem with queer relationships, they wouldn’t enjoy Q’s relationships either—yet no one seems to have an issue there.

The real problem? Minho and Kitty are just written better. Their development feels natural, slow-burn, and reminiscent of Peter and LJ from To All the Boys, with so many small moments that make them irresistible as a ship. Meanwhile, Yuri and Kitty felt rushed, like a sudden, random attraction thrown in for the sake of drama. And let’s not ignore the fact that Yuri was and still is deeply in love with Juliana. She’s obsessed with her. Juliana is clearly her endgame, so why are we acting like #Yuki was ever meant to be a serious thing?

If fans overwhelmingly prefer Minho-Kitty, don’t blame the viewers—blame the writers for making Team MoonCovey so damn good.
