Storm Pet beginner (lvl 20)

What is a good pet to start working with? I’m new to the whole pet building and want a decent pet to use. I asked the commons and someone mentioned either a Ghulture or a Rain Core to start with and level. I don’t have much in terms of snacks and gold to try for multiple pets as I literally just started farming yesterday. Any help or ideas?
