What's your opinion on this?

Would you guys recommend making an appearance on the internet as a regular artist before you start posting your webtoon? For example I've been practicing for years but don't really want to post my art, but want to make a webtoon. So in your experiences, would you start an art account and gain traction before posting the webtoon or just wing it?
