Two Users, two PCs, png/vtuber audio setup?
Hello,
Our current setup is 2 users (wia, Beans), and 2 PCs (wPC, bPC), and a server (more on this later). We also have a focusrite scarlette solo, and a Rodecaster pro II, multiple mics, multiple headphones. We have other audio interfaces too, but I'd like to use those 2 if we can.
At the moment, we play all single player games on wPC. This is easy, I hook everything up to wPC, and the headphones and mics directly to the rodecaster. no problems.
HOWEVER, sometimes we play multiplayer games, or we want to stream a game from bPC. This is when problems pop up.
Things we tried:
Have Beans send video via vdo.ninja and one of the rodecaster USBs hooked up to bPC. This worked somewhat. The video quality wasn't great, so we switch to NDI which solves the video issue. Audio on the other hand became a problem. Everything is controlled via the rodecaster which isn't ideal. We easily run out of channels as I like using USB for things like spotify or anything that else that I don't need in VODs.
Use anything else for getting audio to the streaming PC, such as discord, ndi, vdo.ninja... The problem with this is that Beans can no longer hear alerts, me, my game, or anything else that happens on wPC. I also don't hear Beans on the headphones either which isn't a deal breaker as we're sitting next to each other but it IS an annoyance.
Used the focusrite to get Beans audio from bPC to mine via the rodecaster. This just inst good audio pathing. Now I get Beans in the same rodecaster mix as everything else, but Beans cannot hear anything from PC like in scenario 2. This is basically the same scenario as 2, but with extra steps.
Finally we do have many more PCs in the household, including a few servers. I could setup a small linux VM on there and have OBS on there as the streaming PC, while our PCs are gaming only, if this helps with anything else. We figured we could easily send our individual audio to the server which works for the stream but is still not ideal for hearing each other. I guess we could buy open backed headphones to solve this issue, but we still can't really monitor ourselves, or the other persons PC or alerts...
Any ideas? What do we do? We can't be the only people streaming in the same room that play both solo and MP games. What obvious thing are we missing?!
Thanks in advance for any help at all!
